Sensei Ken Skene is proof that it is never too
late to take up Karate!
He trained in traditional Wado Ryu some 20 years
ago, but due to business and family commitments
had to stop training.
Six years ago however, his son started Karate
and whilst he was sat watching his son training,
he decided at the ripe old age of 46 to have another
go!!
" I was extremely proud to see my son get
his black belt and it was his achievement that
drove me on", explains Sensei Skene.
With dedicated training he attained his 1st Dan
black belt in November 2003, and Sensei Paul Bowles
promoted him to SSKO instructor in October 2005.
His 2nd Dan black belt was awarded to him in
March 2006.
Sensei Skene states, "I am fitter now than
I have ever been, and I am extremely proud to
be an instructor in this friendly family run club
that caters for all ages".
